Architectural Notes
Kepler Center was built so that the facility can be easily expanded and eventually doubled in size. Architects designed the facility as a full building, then pared it down to the correct size for current needs. Exterior metal panels allow for this concept of modular expansion, since they can be removed easily and reused on a new elevation. The facility is heated from output redirected from the building's generators and freezer units. The back of Kepler overlooks a bike path that Promega moved toward the building to keep the picturesque view and save a cluster of trees believed to be 150-year-old Bur Oaks.
