Isabelle Rutherford Meyer Nursing Education Center

The new home for one of the university’s premier academic programs will include clinical labs, practice exam rooms, classrooms, faculty offices, and support spaces totaling 76,100 square feet. Technology will play an important role in this facility: the clinical labs will offer a total of 24 stations where high fidelity “patient” mannequins will provide feedback for students learning nursing skills.  A hospital simulation area will include a nurses’ station, four standard hospital rooms, an ER/trauma room, a labor and delivery room, a room for critical care, and a home health simulation room.  All labs and simulation centers will be equipped with video cameras so students can record and later evaluate their performance with professors and peers.
