Townsend Memorial Library
The library was dedicated in 1961 and named for Dr. and Mrs. E. G. Townsend as the University’s first permanent library. The library contains approximately 150,000 volumes, 250,000 microforms and 3,000 periodicals. Students have access to over 60 electronic databases providing abstracts, full-text journal articles, and reference sources –all provided through 23 patron desktop computers. In fall 1994, a 15,000 square foot addition was completed. The library has a completely computerized catalog system providing access to any materials needed via interlibrary loan.
