GeoMechanics and GeoImaging Laboratory

This laboratory contains equipment for advanced laboratory and field characterization of soil and rock. Laboratory capabilities include triaxial testing of soil and rock specimens, hydraulic fracturing of rock specimens, passive and active dynamic characterization of rock specimens, direct shear testing of soil specimens, and index testing of rock specimens. The field capabilities include ground penetrating radar (both surface and borehole systems) and multi-electrode resistivity tomography.
