Located in the heart of the Foggy Bottom campus, the Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library is the George Washington University?s main library, containing more than two million volumes?not to mention offering access to a variety of research databases and other resources. Gelman?s newly renovated second floor entrance level features the help and checkout desks, student and reading lounges, data visualization and multimedia labs, laptop charging stations, group study rooms and the University Writing Center at Foggy Bottom. The third through sixth floors also offer space for group and individual study, along with access to the library's stacks. Finally, the library's seventh floor is home to the National Security Archive, the Special Collections Research Center, the Kiev Reading Room and the Global Resources Center, among others. For most of the year, the library is open 24/7 for use by students, faculty and staff.
