Monroe Hall and the Hall of Government are two academic buildings that are connected. Both overlook Mid-Campus Quad and are home to the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences' economics, mathematics, political science and speech and hearing departments.

Monroe Hall also boasts several updated classrooms, including one that incorporates computers, SMART boards and other A/V equipment to create an innovative learning environment. The Speech and Hearing Center, which provides a full range of speech, language, and hearing services, is located in the basement of Monroe Hall.
