The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is a body of 188 country members that works toward improving global economic cooperation and stability. IMF efforts touch nearly all corners of the globe, but their headquarters is just blocks from GW?s campus.
Being such close neighbors has its benefits. In 2013, Managing Director Christine Lagarde spoke at GW along with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, and in 2014 the IMF moved its annual meetings to GW?s campus. GW students have also benefited from the proximity through internships with the IMF, which allow students to learn about an economic body with global influence from the inside out.
