Autism researcher, Valerie Hu, PhD, professor of biochemistry and molecular medicine, developed the Autism Diagnostic Interview?Revised (ADI-R), an assessment tool for grouping individuals with autism based on the severity of their language impairment. Her hope is that the tool with help determine whether symptoms of autism can be associated with genetic variations in patients.
