A man and woman create clay bowls at pottery wheels.

Corcoran students, faculty and staff create upwards of 500 clay bowls each year for the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, which benefits the nonprofit organization So Others Might Eat (SOME). The bowls, created by novices and experienced artists using both wheel thrown and textured techniques, generate up to $22,000 in proceeds to support SOME in their work with the homeless.
