Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) joined Milken Institute SPH and a panel of chemical and environmental experts to discuss the federal government?s implementation of the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act. The bipartisan legislation is aimed at making it easier for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to review chemicals in the marketplace and evaluate their effects on public health. The day-long event also celebrated the first anniversary of the bill?s passage?a major achievement in the work to protect the health of all Americans.
