College of Christian Studies
Dean's Welcome Dr. Timothy G. Crawford, Ph.D. On behalf of the faculty and staff of the College of Christian Studies at UMHB, I welcome you to UMHB. So many great things are happening in our College. In the Summer of 2008 the College of Christian Studies moved into its new building, the Paul and Jane Meyer Christian Studies Center. Here we have almost 19000 square feet of classrooms and offices, the Baptist Studies Center, and the Manning Chapel which can accommodate 270 people. We have the privilege of teaching all UMHB students through our Old and New Testament Survey courses in this beautiful new facility. There are now more than 100 majors and more than 100 minors choosing our fields of study. The College offers two degree programs with a total of nine different majors and concentrations, as well as minors in five areas. Our degree programs prepare students for advanced study in graduate schools or seminaries and for service in the local church or other ministry and missionary settings. I hope that the information you find here will help you in your search for God's will regarding your place of service for Christ. Mission In supporting the mission of UMHB to be a Christ-centered institution of higher learning, the College of Christian Studies (CCS) contributes to the academic component of the university's institutional purpose. The purpose of the CCS is to empower its students to become effective servants of God. The CCS provides biblical courses for the entire university and offers a variety of specialized academic programs in biblical studies and languages, church history, theology and philosophy, Christian ministry, and ethics. The CCS faculty consists of committed and widely experienced Christians who seek to broaden students' vision and focus their commitment through intellectual and spiritual growth.
