The GW Law complex is comprised of Lerner Hall, Stockton Hall, Jacob Burns Law Library, E Building, Stuart Hall, Lisner Hall and 700 20th Street. The complex consists of over 340,000 square feet with 41,000 square feet devoted to classrooms and 54,000 square feet devoted to the Jacob Burns Law Library. In addition, this space houses faculty office areas, seminar rooms, classrooms, computer labs and a student commons, which features lounge space and kitchen facilities. Students use this space to relax between classes, study and meet friends for lunch. The complex is located along the edge of University Yard, a popular outdoor student space located in the historic heart of campus.
The main entrance to the Law School is located at Lerner Hall, and the building also houses the Jacob Burns Moot Court Room, the GW Law Career Center, student lounge space, classrooms and conference rooms. Additionally, Lerner Hall is home to the Jacob Burns Law Library, which is among the largest and most prestigious academic law libraries in the country. It offers a research collection rich in the historic and contemporary legal materials of America, as well as international and comparative materials. The Law Library's holdings of more than 600,000 volumes and its wide range of electronic resources provide students with a wealth of legal information. Stuart Hall is the newest building in the George Washington University Law School Complex and houses faculty office areas, seminar rooms, classrooms and a computer lab. Stuart Hall also plays host to the Law School?s Record Office, which serves as the registrar?s office and handles course registration and prepares bar exam forms. In addition to being part of the GW Law School Complex, Lisner Hall is also home to the Department of Biological Sciences. The building was named for Abram Lisner, a merchant, philanthropist and University Trustee (1909-17, 1919-1938).
